In Anger and Solidarity

To our Black colleagues and friends: we are thinking of you. We are thinking of Daunte Wright’s family. We are thinking of the toll that this must take on your bodies, your hearts, and your minds. We love you, we see you, and we stand with you in the ongoing fight for liberation.
While we know that this is not a lot, we want to offer resources for taking care of yourself:

Before you continue reading, please know that the following content explicitly names the events of Daunte’s and others’ deaths by police brutality.
……..
We are angry, we are mourning, and we are numb. The reality that it is safer to be a white man who murdered multiple people than it is to be a Black man at a routine traffic stop, a Black man out for a jog, a Black boy holding a toy gun, or a Black woman asleep in her own home speaks volumes about the death grip white supremacy has on our culture. That Daunte Wright was killed while the trial for George Floyd’s murder is still unfolding shows us that we’re a long way from justice for all Black bodies. The team at FMRA stands with its Black community members and will continue to name and dismantle white supremacy culture within ourselves and our community.
Below is a list of ways to support Daunte Wright’s son and girlfriend, compiled and facilitated by Holistic Heaux.
