I have taught at a few universities and mentored students through entrepreneurship and accelerator programs.

Teaching & Mentorship

  • Mentor and Member of the Advisory Board at MIT Design X Accelerator Program

MIT Design X is a competitive accelerator program for student, faculty, and MIT/Harvard affiliated entrepreneurs. It is run by the Department of Urban Studies and Planning (DUSP). I have been a mentor and member of the Advisory Board for 5 years. Every year my teams placed in the top three at the conclusion of the program.

  • Visiting Faculty at School of Architecture and Planning at IIT Chicago

I designed and taught a year long course that comprised a design seminar in the Fall and a studio in the Spring entitled, Systems Theory and Urban Form. The students were exposed to ecologist, Howard T. Odum’s Emergy and Systems Theory to identify underutilized energy flows in the urban system that is Chicago. With that knowledge they then designed interventions around the city to take advantage of these ‘waste’ opportunities.

  • Visiting Lecturer at Northeastern School of Architecture

I was a visiting lecturer at Northeastern’s School of Architecture where I taught undergraduate and graduate students in their capstone Comprehensive Building Studio, ARCH 5120. One of my student teams won the 3C - Comprehensive Coastal Communities international competition.

  • Visiting Faculty at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam

While practicing architecture and urban design at de Architekten Cie in Amsterdam, I was invited to participate in an international competition to redesign the defunct Saemangeum estuary in South Korea. Student teams led by practicing professionals from MIT, London Metropolitan University, Tokyo Institute of Technology, and The Berlage Institute created proposals for a new urban center from reclaimed land in the estuary.

  • Mentor and Instructor at Entrepreneurship for All (E for All)

E for All is an inclusive accelerator whose Boston program is located in Dudley Square in Roxbury. Its mission is to provide training and funding for BIPOC entrepreneurs. I have given lectures and mentored students in the program.
